Sobre el programa.
We place particular emphasis on leveraging Latino/a identity as an asset to leadership and community service—because we know that our culture and community already brings value to the table.
Our program is about one-third network building and two-thirds leadership development and skill building. Every session includes a whole-group plenary session, as well as built-in community-building time. Time is also carved out during the program to provide differentiated content for new and returning members, as well as content targeted to different career phases.

LLP’s core audience is licensed educators holding a principal endorsement who self-identify as Latino/a. This includes classroom teachers, school administrators, and district-level roles. Within this group, we seek to support those seeking to a) expand their leadership impact and b) leverage their Latino identity as an asset to their leadership.
Our program, while founded in Chicago, is intended to support and grow leaders across the state. As such, our work is grounded in deep dives of Illinois data and Illinois policy, and our network is focused on identifying and creating career opportunities here.Leaders from outside of the state are welcome to join, but should understand that our work will be set in an Illinois context.
-

Most sessions will require light pre-work, approximately 1-3 hours per month. This will include some pre-readings, but usually entails time between sessions (with different emphases per cohort) working on personal impact stories, data reflections, resumes, and their leadership stories. Prior participants have reported that this work has felt like authentic, job-embedded leadership development practice, as opposed to “homework.”
-
LLP is a volunteer-organized and run program. Participation is $50.00, plus any additional costs for texts and materials used in the program.
