Mission & History

The Latino Leadership Pipeline (LLP) is an independent, not-for-profit organization that supports educators in Chicago and greater Illinois. Since LLP’s founding, we have built a network of over 200 Latino education leaders.

Our mission & Vision

Our mission is to develop the next level of Latino/a Leaders ready to take on leadership roles in schools, districts, and across the state. This is accomplished through a professional learning community that supports growth through coaching and mentoring. 

We envision a classroom, school, district, and statewide leadership that reflects the make-up and serves the needs of Latino/a students, families, and communities. 

Key Dates & Milestones

  • 2016

    Latino leaders in CPS come together and begin coaching aspiring principals.

  • 2017

    Latino Leadership Pipeline adopts its name.

  • 2018

    LLP begins cohort-based learning groups.

  • 2020

    LLP shifts to online learning to continue to support aspiring leaders through the pandemic.

  • 2023

    LLP partners with the Fund to support affinity group learning.

  • 2024

    Due to the value of in-person convenings, LLP shifts to a hybrid model. Sessions are held in person and there is a large selection of virtual workshops
